Facts About A Breast Lift Without Implants

If you have breasts that have been affected by aging, you might consider getting a breast lift without implants. Pregnancy, hormonal changes and weight gain or loss can make the breasts droop and sag in a downward position. A woman can also have a history of sagging skin that runs in her family. This condition can make a woman feel less than attractive and it may have a negative effect on her self esteem and ego. The problem may worsen as time goes on and she may start thinking about alternatives, like having a breast lift without implants.

Women with smaller breasts who also need extra lift would benefit greatly from a breast lift with implants. But women who have larger, fuller breasts can have the same result without any unnecessary implants. There is a specific surgery that addresses this problem and it is called a mastopexy.

There are three separate degrees of problems and they are called the ptosis. They are characterized as minor, moderate and severe. Certain surgical procedures are done to correct problems and this depends on the severity of the sagging. Skin is removed around the nipple area and the remaining skin is tightened during these different types of surgeries.

There is a natural fold underneath the breast area and if the nipple is equal to the fold the problem is considered minor. If the nipple is located 1 to 2 inches below the fold, this is a moderate ptosis. If the nipple is pointing in a downward position and the nipple is 2 to 3 inches below the natural fold, this is a severe breast ptosis. The breast lift without implants surgery can correct all of these problems.

For a minor ptosis a small half circle incision is cut over the nipple area. The nipple is lifted and sutured at the top of the half circle cut. This surgery is recommended for women who have smaller breasts and do not need that much of a lift.

Another type of surgery that can correct a minor ptosis is to make an incision around the nipple area. The breast is lifted slightly but the nipple can also be trimmed or placed a bit higher than before. This surgery is only for women who need a minimal amount of lift.

The surgical procedures that help women with larger breasts have larger incisions. A V shaped or vertical incision can be used to lift the bigger breast. The surgeon makes an incision around the nipple area and also around the bottom portion of the breast. The nipple is lifted and sutured and the remaining skin is tightened.

The last and most commonly used procedure is an anchor shaped incision. A full half circle shape is made into a point towards the center of the back of the breast. An incision is made around the nipple and in a half circle over the nipple area. The nipple is raised and sutured and the remaining skin is tightened. This lifts the breast considerably.

It can take a few weeks to a few months to heal fully after one of these surgeries. You will also have to wear a special bra that is tight around the breast area to reduce swelling. You may have to wait a few months for the swelling to go down and for the breasts to fall into position.

If you are thinking of having a surgery like a breast lift without implants, you should look for a reputable plastic surgeon. He should be a member of the American society of plastic surgeons and he should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in performing plastic surgeries.
